Enrich children wholistically through quality educational learning experiences and fun meaningful play
The MLI Early Years team provides an innovative and stimulating inquiry based learning environment to help your child to flourish. We believe that every child is a unique individual who brings a wealth of ideas, opportunities and deep curiosity to our school.
The curriculum is designed to develop and support children’s physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional growth through an electric approach that prepares young children for future academic success.
Within its programmes, MLI provides a special focus on holistic development with a child-centred approach which helps students to begin to make sense of their world through a broad and balanced learning environment. English is the language of instruction, and all students study Bahasa Indonesia and Mandarin.
SPECIALIST TEACHER
In the early years, the teacher’s role is to mentor the child, providing them with opportunities to explore and discover, and to guide them in the creation of new knowledge and greater understandings. We recognise that learning in Early Childhood is unique and differs to a Primary School experience, as the focus is on a more nurturing role.To ensure your little one receives all the right guidance and encouragement they need to lead their learning, we ensure that we have a high adult to learner ratio.
PLAY BASED LEARNING
Learning in our Playgroup and Kindergarten classes is through a mixture of teacher-directed and child-initiated activities. Well-planned play both inside and outside, is a key way in which young children learn with enjoyment and challenge. Play based learning gives children opportunities to explore, observe, hypothesise, question, and discuss to clarify their understanding. We also provide daily opportunities for children to develop early reading, writing and number skills with creative and imaginative adult support.

Ensuring each child gets the most out of their education as we strive to create a community of life long learners
MLI is authorized to offer the Cambridge Primary Programme for 6-12 years old students. This programme provides a world-class curriculum to develop students’ skills and understanding. Align with MLI’s goal to achieve Academic Excellence, the school incorporates the Cambridge curriculum to develop the students’ interest in learning and to equip each student with knowledge, skills and understandings to prepare them for higher study.
English is the language of instruction, and all students study Bahasa Indonesia and Mandarin.
INQUIRY BASED LEARNING
Inquiry-based learning is active learning that starts by posing questions, problems or scenarios—rather than simply presenting established facts or portraying discrete areas of knowledge. Learners will identify and research issues and questions to develop their knowledge and understanding. They will synthesise what they have discovered, make connections to prior learning, draw conclusions, take action and move forward with increased confidence. We know that children are creative and naturally motivated to learn. When encouraged to inquire, children retain their passion to explore and extend their understanding, knowledge and skills. This involves children reflecting on all aspects of their learning; academic, physical and social development. Our aim is to foster the development of the whole child and we provide strong support for this.
